Scholarship Description: The PhD project focuses on addressing Pseudomonas aeruginosa infections, a pathogen notorious for antibiotic resistance. The research will explore the potential of bacteriophages, aiming at the development of personalized phage therapies. Key objectives include phage isolation, genetic and phenotypic characterization, phage training for enhanced lytic activity, and assessing their efficacy in preventing or treating infections in combination with antimicrobials and/or host flora.
Eligibility:
- Master’s degree in Life Sciences with a specialization in microbiology and host-pathogen interactions
- Skills in DNA sequence analysis and bioinformatics are advantageous
- Organized and flexible, capable of independent work in an interdisciplinary environment
- Proficient in English; German and/or French language skills are additional assets
Required Documents:
- CV
- Motivation letter
- Addresses of two referees
