Summary
The Weill Institute for Cell and Molecular Biology (WICMB) and the Department of Biomedical and Translational Sciences (BTS) at Cornell University invite applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant Professor level. We are seeking candidates who will establish a research program utilizing fundamental insights into cellular and molecular mechanisms to drive therapeutic discovery and development, contributing to both basic science and animal health goals.

Eligibility/Qualification
- PhD or equivalent degree.
- Expertise in one or more of cell, structural & molecular biology; in situ structural biology; chemical biology; and biomolecular engineering.
- Ability to develop a dynamic, externally funded research program.
- Commitment to mentoring, career development of trainees, and fostering an inclusive climate.
- Ability to build collaborative connections across basic science and clinical science departments.
- Willingness to establish an arm of the research program advancing animal health goals of the College of Veterinary Medicine (CVM).
- Expected to teach in the pharmacology and/or physiology focus areas.
- Salary range: $140,000 – $226,200 annually.
Job Description
The successful candidate will:
- Develop and lead an innovative, externally funded research program focused on molecular therapeutics, leveraging fundamental insights into cellular and molecular mechanisms.
- Conduct research that may include the discovery and validation of new disease mechanisms and therapeutic targets, small-molecule and biologic discovery and/or delivery, development of organoid and animal models, and engineering of advanced targeted technologies.
- Lead a vibrant research group, demonstrating a strong commitment to mentoring and career development for trainees, and fostering an inclusive research environment.
- Actively collaborate with colleagues across basic science and clinical science departments within Cornell University.
- Contribute to the animal health mission of the College of Veterinary Medicine by developing a relevant component of their research program.
- Teach courses within the pharmacology and/or physiology focus areas.
- Utilize state-of-the-art facilities for computational biology, genomics, proteomics, metabolomics, microscopy, and various animal models.
