CASI Postdoctoral Climate Fellowship: The Center for the Advanced Study of India (CASI) at the University of Pennsylvania is accepting applications for the CASI Postdoctoral Climate Fellowship for the 2024-2025 academic year. This fully-funded fellowship is open to scholars in the humanities and social sciences with a focus on contemporary India, particularly in areas related to environment-society relations, cities and urbanization, and climate change. Applicants with expertise in multimedia production, critical cartography (video, web-based platforms, GIS), and research on enduring inequities are encouraged to apply.

Location: University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, PA

Eligibility/Qualification: Candidates must have received their Ph.D. or equivalent degrees by June 30, 2024, or will complete their degree by that date. Ph.D.s must have been received in 2021 or after. The position is renewable for up to one additional year based on performance and budgetary approval. Fellows are expected to reside in the vicinity of the University of Pennsylvania and fully engage with the intellectual life of CASI. The fellowship includes a stipend of $65,000, a $2,500 research fund, and health insurance.

Job Description: The Postdoctoral Climate Fellow will have the opportunity to pursue individual research while contributing to the Penn Global funded project, “Stories of Climate Action.” There is no teaching requirement, and innovative project proposals may be considered for modest funding. Fellows are expected to be fully integrated into the intellectual community of CASI, promoting interdisciplinary research, collaboration, and collegiality.
