Eligibility/Qualification
- Recent Ph.D. (within the last 1-3 years) in Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, Computer Science, Genomics, or a related field.
- Experience with genomic language models, including model training, fine-tuning, and application to biological datasets.
- Proficiency in Python and experience with biological sequence analysis tools and workflows.
- Familiarity with high-performance computing (HPC) and managing large-scale genomic datasets.
- Strong foundation in genomics, including genome structure and gene regulation.
- Excellent communication skills, with a strong publication record in relevant fields.
- Experience in interdisciplinary collaboration.
Job Description
- Develop a benchmark suite for evaluating plant genomic language models (gLMs) across diverse taxa.
- Systematically compare gLM approaches with traditional deep learning methods.
- Train and evaluate various model architectures tailored to the complexities of plant genomes.
- Identify biological applications where gLMs can uncover novel insights, particularly in data-limited tasks.
- Contribute to manuscript preparation and present findings at scientific conferences.
- Maintain meticulous documentation of code, analyses, and results.
