Eligibility/Qualification–
Educational Qualification
- Candidates must possess the qualifications prescribed by the UGC norms for appointment as Assistant Professor in the concerned discipline.
- Candidates who obtained their Degree/PhD from Universities or Institutions outside Kerala must submit an equivalency/eligibility certificate issued by Mahatma Gandhi University.
- Relevant educational certificates, mark lists and degree certificates must be submitted along with the application.
- Candidates claiming CGPA-based qualifications must provide proof of CGPA-to-percentage conversion.
Age Limit
- Age shall be as prescribed under the UGC Regulations applicable to Assistant Professor appointments.
- Teachers who have retired from Colleges/Universities may also be considered, subject to a maximum age of 70 years as on 01 January 2026.
Reservation
Vacancies are distributed among various reservation categories as specified in the notification, including SC, ST, OBC, EWS, Muslim, Latin Catholic/Anglo Indian, Viswakarma, Differently Abled and other specified categories.
Candidates claiming reservation must submit the relevant certificates, including:

Job/Position Description-
Mahatma Gandhi University has invited applications for the recruitment of Assistant Professors on Contract for the academic year 2026–2027. A total of 24 contractual vacancies are available across various Schools and Departments, including Biosciences, Physics, Computer Science, Environmental Sciences, Artificial Intelligence & Robotics, Data Analytics, Mathematics & Statistics, Food Science, Polymer Science and others.
The engagement will be purely contractual and will continue for the current academic year, up to April 15, 2027. Selected candidates will receive a consolidated remuneration of ₹40,000 per month.

Designation
Assistant Professor on Contract
The selected Assistant Professors will be engaged on a purely contractual basis for the academic year 2026–2027. Their responsibilities will include teaching and academic duties associated with the concerned School/Department and discipline.
The engagement will remain valid up to April 15, 2027, and selected candidates will be required to execute an agreement with the University according to its existing rules and norms.
The consolidated remuneration will be ₹40,000 per month.
