Eligibility/Qualification:
- Candidates must be in a mentored postdoctoral position at the time of application.
- No more than 5 years of postdoctoral experience at the time of application (exceptions may apply).
- A minimum commitment to 12 months of mentored research before transition.
- Open to U.S. and international researchers without citizenship requirements.
- Applicants must not have previously held an independent research faculty or tenure-track faculty position.
Job Description:
The CRI IGNITE Award consists of two sequential funding phases:
- Foundation Phase (Up to 2 Years):
- Offers up to $150,000 per year for mentored postdoctoral support.
- Focuses on developing skills and research potential under experienced mentorship.
- Independence Phase (Up to 3 Years):
- Provides $250,000 per year for independent faculty support contingent on securing an assistant professor position.
- Requires co-investment from the hiring institution, ensuring essential resources such as lab space and mentorship.
Successful candidates will leverage early-stage funding to establish robust research programs and generate preliminary data for future competitive awards, essential for long-term career sustainability.
