Eligibility/Qualification:
- MSc degree or equivalent in Chemistry, Biotechnology, Pharmacy, or Biochemistry.
- Strong focus on multistep organic synthesis, particularly in dye chemistry (BODIPYs and rhodamines).
- Solid theoretical and practical background in organic chemistry and photochemistry.
- Experience with biological techniques and a keen interest in understanding biological processes at the atomic level.
- Self-driven, passionate team player with a disposition towards scientific qualification (e.g., a doctorate in chemical biology).
Job Description:
- Conduct independent scientific research and development in the synthesis of chemical-biological tools for generating ROS in chloroplasts.
- Design and implement multistep organic synthesis projects and conduct photochemical characterization (e.g., quantum yields and ROS quantification).
- Engage in cell-based experiments, microscopy, and proteomics.
- Supervise Bachelor and Master students and effectively communicate scientific findings in an international environment.
- Participate in multidisciplinary training and collaborative activities amongst research groups involved in the LOEWE project.
