Doctoral Position in Theoretical Biophysics: The University of Konstanz, in collaboration with the Max Planck Institute of Animal Behavior, is offering a doctoral position in Theoretical Biophysics. The project focuses on inferring dynamical interactions in social groups, exploring foundational aspects of group behaviors and their emergent properties.

Eligibility/Qualification

  • Master’s degree in a quantitative field (preferably Physics, but Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or Engineering will also be considered).
  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
  • Relevant experience with statistical mechanics and machine learning techniques is desirable.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills in English.

Job Description

  • Develop and analytically derive models.
  • Conduct numerical model simulations.
  • Analyze experimental data.
  • Present results at local and international conferences.
  • Write research papers and other publications.
