Eligibility & Qualifications

To be considered for this position, you must meet the following criteria:

  • Degree: You hold a Masterโ€™s degree in Physics, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • Academic Record: You can provide evidence of excellent study results.
  • Technical Skills: You have hands-on experience with MATLAB and dynamic systems.
  • Preferred Experience: Prior experience in Optometry, Neuroscience, and/or Structural Engineering is highly recommended.
  • Language: Excellent oral and written command of English.
  • Attributes: High integrity, quality-mindedness, creativity, and a collaborative spirit in line with university research policies.

Job Description

As a doctoral researcher, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Actively working at VOLANTIS to prepare and publicly defend a PhD thesis on human eye growth mathematical modeling.
  • Drawing up a detailed research plan and methodology in consultation with your supervisor(s).
  • Conducting high-standard research efficiently (with opportunities to work abroad) and competing for external/internal predoctoral funding.
  • Reporting progress regularly to supervisors/committees and presenting findings at international scientific conferences.
  • Contributing scientifically to existing research projects within and beyond your primary doctoral scope.
