Eligibility/Qualification–
Applicants should fulfill the following criteria:
- Preferably women candidates of Indian nationality.
- Must possess a PhD or equivalent degree such as:
- MD/MS/DM/MCh/MPH with relevant postdoctoral experience.
- Candidates should have demonstrated research excellence in:
- Infectious diseases
- Immunology
- Related biological sciences.
- Applicants should have:
- Up to 3–4 years of postdoctoral experience.
- Strong publication record.
- Potential for independent research leadership.
Age Limit
- Maximum age: 35 years as on 15 July 2026.
Job/Position Description-
The Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research (JNCASR), a premier interdisciplinary research institution under the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, has invited applications for the prestigious YRGCARE–Suniti Solomon Distinguished Faculty Fellowship. The fellowship is intended preferably for women scientists of Indian nationality working in infectious diseases, immunology, and related biological sciences.
The selected candidate will be appointed as an Assistant Professor for a period of five years and will establish an independent research laboratory at JNCASR, Bengaluru. The fellowship is supported by YRG Centre for AIDS Research and Education (YRGCARE).

Designation: YRGCARE–Suniti Solomon Distinguished Faculty Fellow (Assistant Professor)
The selected fellow will:
- Serve as an Assistant Professor at JNCASR for a period of five years.
- Establish and lead an independent research laboratory.
- Conduct high-quality interdisciplinary research in infectious diseases and related fields.
- Teach students enrolled in:
- M.Sc.
- Integrated Ph.D.
- Ph.D. programs.
- Collaborate with faculty across different research units at JNCASR.
- Participate in seminars, pedagogic lectures, and faculty interactions during the selection process.
JNCASR will provide:
- Laboratory and office space.
- Access to central research facilities.
- Basic infrastructure and consumables as per institutional norms.
The fellowship will be funded by YRGCARE while the candidate will follow JNCASR policies and regulations.
