TERI School of Advanced Studies, New Delhi, India, invites applications for Fellow/Scientist ‘B’ Positions from eligible and interested candidates.

About- IPCA Centre for Waste Management and Research (ICWMR) is a joint initiative of TERI School of Advanced Studies (TERI SAS) and Indian Pollution Control Association (IPCA), Delhi. The ICWMR is recently launched in TERI SAS with the mandate to undertake research and consultancy, and conduct capacity-building programmes on issues related waste management covering all its dimensions related to law, governance, science, and technology. It will provide evidence-based policy interventions in managing waste in a most optimal manner. The ICWMR will also publish insights by eliciting inputs through organizing working group sessions, and conferences and collaborating with similar national and international institutes.

Eligibility/Qualification–

A. PhD degree (preferable) or Master’s degree in environmental science, environmental engineering, economics, climate change studies and related fields
B. 1-year of work experience for candidates with PhD degree or 4-years with post-graduate degree
C. Expertise in the field(s) such as mathematical modelling, statistical analysis, Climate finance, footprint estimation and policy analysis in the domain of environment
D. Ability to think analytically and strategically
F. Excellent command of Excel and good working knowledge of all Microsoft Office applications and other useful softwares
G. Excellent oral and written command of English
H. Capable of working well independently and as part of a team
I. Multitasker and capable of simultaneously managing multiple projects with different deadlines

Job/Position Description- 

TERI is looking for Fellows/Scientists (Scientist ‘B’) who can assist the centre in undertaking evidence-based research and drive policy level interventions.

Department/Centre: IPCA Centre for Waste Management and Research (ICWMR)
Institution: TERI School of Advanced Studies, New Delhi
Pay Scale: Level 10 (as per 7th CrPC, (Starting monthly emoluments- Rs 1,06,000+)
Location: Delhi
Number of positions: 2 (Maximum)

Work responsibilities

The Scientist will work under the supervision of the Centre Head. He/she is expected to do the following tasks:
A. Spearhead and execute research projects
B. Contribute towards achieving objectives of the Centre
C. Develop research proposals for funding support
D. Author studies, reports, articles, and training programs for dissemination of research
E. Supervise and mentor research staff in the team
F. Work as a secondary faculty member of a Department at TERI SAS in commensurate with qualifications and experience, if required
G. Supervise PhD research, if required and if meets the eligibility criteria for PhD supervisor of TERI SAS

Method of Selection: Presentation followed by Interview

1. The Centre will screen the application of the candidates and will call for interview accordingly.
2. The prescribed qualifications and experience are minimum and fact that the candidate possesses the same will not entitle him/her to be called for interview. The Centre reserves the right to restrict the number of candidates to be called for interview to a reasonable number based on qualification and experience higher than the minimum prescribed or by any other condition that it may deem fit.
3. Eligibility of the candidates will be determined on the last date of filling up the application form.
4. Application fee of INR 1500/- is to be submitted
5. No TA/DA will be given for appearing in selection process.
6. Shortlisted candidates will be informed about the date of interview at least 10 days in advance.
