Two full-time Postdoctoral Fellow positions are available in the laboratory of Dr. Roger Innes in the Department of Biology at Indiana University Bloomington to study the biogenesis and functions of extracellular vesicles (EVs) produced by plants and fungi.
Work in the Innes laboratory has established that plant EVs carry a diversity of small RNAs, stress-associated proteins, and secondary metabolites. We are currently investigating their roles in interkingdom communication and plant immune responses.
These positions will focus on characterizing the diversity of plant and fungal EVs, the pathways by which different classes of EVs are produced, and how EVs are taken up by target cells.
