Job Description
As a Doctoral Researcher within the Intelligent Connectivity and Networks Group (ICON), your responsibilities will include:
- Developing novel cooperative multi-agent communication frameworks by combining multi-agent communication, multi-objective optimization, and state abstraction.
- Designing new signaling mechanisms and scalable learning strategies using optimization approaches, generative AI, and multimodal sensing.
- Validating developed methods in representative beyond 5G/6G use cases.
- Completing all necessary doctoral study requirements at the university.
Eligibility & Qualification
Academic & Technical Requirements:
- A Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Communications Engineering, Computer Science, Machine Learning, or a closely related field (must be completed before the start of employment).
- A strong understanding of mathematical foundations (probability, statistics, linear algebra).
- Good written and spoken English communication skills.
- Appreciated: Prior research experience (publications or thesis work) and solid programming skills (Python, PyTorch, TensorFlow).
MSCA Eligibility Rules:
- Mobility Rule: Candidates must not have lived or carried out their main activity (work, studies, etc.) in Finland for more than 12 months in the 36 months immediately prior to their recruitment date.
- Degree Rule: Applicants must not already possess a doctoral degree at the time of recruitment.
- Admissions: The successful candidate must apply for and be granted the right to study at the University of Oulu Graduate School (UniOGS).
