Fully Funded PhD Position – Grenoble Institute of Neurosciences, France

Postdoc in France

Fully Funded PhD Position: A three-year fully funded PhD position is available at the Grenoble Institute of Neurosciences, focusing on the molecular mechanisms linking tau, a neurodegeneration-associated protein, to cell transformation and cancer prognosis. The project aims to investigate the impact of altered tau expression and modifications on focal adhesions, microtubule/actin networks, and processes involved in tumor progression. The research will contribute to understanding the connection between neurodegenerative diseases and cancers.

Fully Funded PhD Position – Exploring the Role of Tau in Cell Adhesion Dynamics

Location: Grenoble Institute of Neurosciences, Team “Neuro-Cytoskeleton Dynamics & Structure,” Chemin Fortuné Ferrini, 38700 La Tronche, France.

Eligibility/Qualification: Seeking a highly motivated student with knowledge in cell biology and/or biochemistry, open to multidisciplinary approaches.

Description: The collaborative project involves two teams with expertise in tau protein biology, cytoskeleton properties (Arnal & Andrieux team, Grenoble Institute of Neurosciences), and cell adhesion dynamics (Albigès-Rizo team, Institute of Advanced Biosciences). The PhD candidate will explore tau-mediated cytoskeleton organization, focal adhesion assembly, and distribution in cell models. Additionally, they will investigate how tau proteins affect the microtubule/actin interplay at the leading edge of migrating cells using in vitro studies.

How to Apply: Interested candidates should send their CV, Bachelor and Master grades, a letter of motivation, and letters of recommendation to isabelle.arnal@univ-grenoble-alpes.fr and corinne.albiges-rizo@univ-grenoble-alpes.fr by May 20, 2024.

Last Date for Apply: 20 May 2024
