Eligibility/Qualification
To be eligible for the Georg Forster Research Fellowship, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Must be a citizen of a developing or transition country (excluding PR China and India).
- For postdocs: Completed doctorate within the last four years, or within six months of completion.
- For experienced researchers: Completed doctorate within the last twelve years; must have a substantial publication record.
- Research must address questions relevant to the sustainable development of the applicant’s region of origin.
Job Description
The Georg Forster Research Fellowship enables researchers to conduct their own research at various stages of their careers, in collaboration with a host at a German research institution of their choice. Accepted fellows will receive personal support throughout their sponsorship, alongside participation in an intensive German language course before the research fellowship begins.
