Graduate Research Assistantship (Ph.D.): The Precision Water Management Lab at the Agricultural and Biological Engineering Department, University of Florida, is inviting applications for a Graduate Research Assistant (GRA) position at the Ph.D. level. The successful candidate, under the supervision of Dr. Vivek Sharma, will contribute to the NRCS CIG on-farm funded project on Accelerating the Variable Rate Irrigation Technology, starting in Summer/Fall 2024.

Scholarship Description: The GRA position covers stipends, tuition, and fees for the candidate working on the NRCS CIG on-farm funded project. The research involves applying VRI technology with AI/ML algorithms to analyze water quantity and quality dynamics, crop productivity, and their economic implications.

Eligibility: Applicants should hold an appropriate M.S. degree in Agricultural and Biological Engineering, Precision Water Management, Soil and Water Science, Agronomy, Remote Sensing, Hydrology, or any related field with a GPA of 3.0 or higher. English writing and communication skills are essential, and for non-English credentials, a TOEFL score of 79 iBT or IELTS score of 6.5 or higher is required.
