The Department of Microbiology, Panjab University, Chandigarh invites applications for two (02) Guest Faculty positions to teach B.Sc. (Hons.) and M.Sc. (Hons.) courses during the Even Semester of the Academic Year 2025–2026. The engagement will be on a lecture basis with a fixed honorarium as per university norms.

Eligibility / Qualification
Essential Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Microbiology with at least 55% marks (or equivalent grade) from a recognized Indian University or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university.
- A 5% relaxation is applicable for SC/ST/Differently-abled/OBC (Non-creamy layer)/Ph.D. holders who obtained their Master’s degree prior to 19 September 1991.
- The candidate must have:
- Cleared NET (UGC/CSIR) or SLET/SET, OR
- Been awarded a Ph.D. degree in accordance with UGC regulations.
- NET exemption is applicable for candidates registered for Ph.D. prior to 11 July 2009, subject to fulfillment of UGC conditions, including:
- Ph.D. awarded in regular mode
- Thesis evaluated by at least two external examiners
- Open viva voce conducted
- At least two research publications (one in a refereed journal)
- At least two conference/seminar presentations
- Certification by the Registrar/Dean (Academic Affairs)

Honorarium & Terms
- ₹1,500 per lecture
- Maximum honorarium: ₹50,000 per month
- Engagement is purely temporary and on a lecture basis
- Guest Faculty must submit an undertaking that they are not drawing any other fellowship/stipend during the tenure
- Candidates already availing JRF within the University will not receive honorarium, but will be issued an experience certificate
