Eligibility/Qualification

  • Candidates must have received their terminal degree between May 2022 and August 2026.
  • Eligible fields include any area with a doctorate or equivalent; PhDs are favored, but applications from fields without a typical terminal degree are welcome.
  • Proficiency in English is required, especially for foreign nationals.
  • Candidates must secure a commitment from one or more Harvard faculty members to serve as a mentor and provide necessary office or lab space.
  • Current Harvard post-docs are eligible, provided their research takes new directions within the University.

Job Description

The Environmental Fellow will work for two years with Harvard faculty members across various departments, engaging in projects that address significant environmental issues. The fellowship package includes:

  • An annual salary of $90,000
  • Health insurance eligibility
  • Up to $2,500 for relocation expenses
  • $2,500 annual allowance for travel and professional expenses
  • Participation in co-curricular programs including biweekly dinners with faculty and peers

  • Curriculum vitae (including a list of publications)
  • Detailed research proposal (maximum of five pages, references not included)
  • Up to three publications/writing samples
  1. Submit three letters of reference, including one from your dissertation adviser.
  2. Obtain a letter of support from the Harvard faculty mentor committing to your proposed research.
