Eligibility/Qualification
- PhD in microbiology, bioelectrochemistry, molecular biology, or a related field
- Strong background in anaerobic microbiology and electromicrobiology
- Experience in microbial electrochemistry, anaerobic cultivation, microbial physiology assays, and advanced microscopy techniques
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English
- Collaborative mindset and inclination towards interdisciplinary research
Job Description
The successful candidate will:
- Conduct research on hydrocarbon-oxidizing archaea and their interactions with sulfate-reducing bacteria.
- Perform anaerobic cultivation and experimentation with syntrophic consortia.
- Carry out physiological assays and microbial electrochemistry, including the operation of microbial fuel cells (MFC) under anoxic conditions.
- Implement stable isotope labeling and metabolomics, as well as use fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) and advanced microscopy.
- Collaborate with international researchers and contribute to the development of a next-generation imaging platform.
