Eligibility/Qualification

RequirementDetails
EducationMaster’s degree in biology specializing in evolutionary biology, population genetics, modeling, bioinformatics, or a related discipline.
CreditsMinimum of 240 higher education credits; at least 60 of those at the advanced (Master’s) level, including an independent project of at least 15 credits.
SkillsProficiency in population genomics, bioinformatics, and practical laboratory work. Strong English communication skills (spoken and written).
AdditionalExperience with population genomic modeling, genome assembly, and work with sex chromosomes is a merit.

Description

This PhD project involves investigating evolutionary dynamics, particularly how sex chromosomes evolve and what influences sex ratios in natural populations. Candidates will utilize cutting-edge techniques in population genomics, bioinformatics, and evolutionary modeling, and engage in hands-on experimental work.
