ICFO PhD-Student Positions: ICFO, the Institute of Photonic Sciences, announces up to 7 PhD positions available within the FLIGHT Fellowship Program, a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) COFUND initiative. The positions are offered in collaboration with Industrial or Clinical Partners, providing an opportunity for intersectoral research training. ICFO welcomes applications from well-qualified graduate students with degrees in mathematics, science, engineering, or medical sciences related to ICFO’s research activities.

Research Area: New Catalytic Processes for Sustainable Organic Chemistry
Location: ICFO – Institute of Photonic Sciences, Barcelona, Spain
Eligibility/Qualification:
- Well-qualified graduate students with a degree in mathematics, science, engineering, or medical sciences.
- For Clinical and Industrial tracks, candidates with a background in neuropsychology, medicine, biology, etc., will be valued.
- Familiarity with the research topics covered at ICFO.
Job Description: The selected PhD students will have a choice of 3 tracks:
- Clinical Track: Collaborate with Clinical Partners on projects related to neuroscience and pediatric management.
- Industrial Track: Collaborate with Industrial Partners on projects such as quantum dot technology and evolving Quantum Random Number Generators (QRNGs).
- Enhanced Track: Work with one of ICFO’s 25 Research Groups, covering a wide range of research lines in photonics, optics, quantum sciences, and more.
