🎓 Eligibility / Qualification:
Mandatory:
- PhD in Biomedical Sciences, Biomedical Engineering, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or related fields.
- Experience in:
- Nanomedicine fabrication and drug encapsulation
- Physicochemical characterization
- Mammalian cell culture
- Handling laboratory rodents (mice/rats)
- Certified license to work with rodents (DGAV – Functions A+B+D / FELASA C)
- Motivation Letter in English (including availability for 01/09/2025 start)
Preferred (Not Mandatory but Valued):
- Knowledge of nanomotors, anisotropic nanoparticles, Pickering emulsions
- Experience with:
- Multiple particle tracking video microscopy
- Cell uptake and permeability assays
- Oral gavage and near-infrared imaging
- Type 1 diabetes models
- Strong publication record in peer-reviewed journals
📄 Job Description:
The selected researcher will:
- Spend ~85% of time in wet-lab work; remainder on data analysis and writing.
- Perform:
- Fabrication and characterization of nanoparticles
- Transport studies in mucus via particle tracking
- In vivo/ex vivo imaging and biodistribution in rodents
- Efficacy studies using oral insulin delivery in diabetic models
- Work under the guidance of Dr. José das Neves in a multidisciplinary environment.
