Eligibility/Qualification–

For Project Research Scientist-II (Non-Medical)

  • Essential:
    • First-class postgraduate degree in Biological Sciences or relevant subject with 3 years experience OR Ph.D. in Biological Sciences or relevant subject.
    • For engineering graduates: First-class 4-year degree in Biotechnology or relevant subject with 3 years experience.
  • Desirable:
    • Research publications.
    • Experience in infectious diseases (bacterial/fungal), antimicrobial agents, nanomedicine/biotech.

For Project Research Scientist-I (Non-Medical)

  • Essential:
    • First Class Postgraduate Degree in Biological Sciences/Life Sciences/Environmental Sciences or relevant fields OR
    • Second Class Postgraduate Degree with Ph.D. in relevant disciplines OR
    • For engineering: First-class 4-year graduate degree in Biotechnology or related field.
  • Desirable:
    • Similar to above, experience and publications in infectious diseases and nanotechnology preferred.

For Project Research Scientist-I (Optogenetics Project)

  • Essential:
    • Ph.D. in Life Science/Biotechnology/Biology-related subjects with a strong academic record.
  • Desirable:
    • Knowledge/experience in algal biology, cell biology, electrophysiology, molecular biology.

Job/Position Description- 

Applications are invited for the following three research positions under ICMR-funded projects at Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi, at the Special Centre for Nanoscience (SCNS) and School of Biotechnology (SBT). These roles are temporary and project-based, focused on infectious diseases, nanotechnology, antimicrobial resistance, and optogenetics.

Project Research Scientist II (Non-Medical)

Project Research Scientist I (Non-Medical)

  • Conduct cutting-edge research in antimicrobial resistance, nanomedicine, theranostic platforms, optogenetic tools, and amyloid propagation.
  • Participate in experimental design, data collection, and analysis.
  • Work in collaboration with interdisciplinary teams.
  • Contribute to research publications and project reports.

These positions are purely temporary and co-terminus with the respective projects. Initially appointed for one year, with possible extension based on satisfactory performance and project duration.
