Job Description

The successful applicant will join the multidisciplinary protein characterization team within Analytical Development, part of Johnson & Johnson’s Discovery, Product Development and Supply organization. The Leiden team supports the development and commercial manufacturing of protein-based products through analytical method development, comparability studies, protein characterization, investigations, regulatory filings, automation, advanced data analytics, and life-cycle management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop an LC-MS and automated data-processing workflow for intact-protein glycosylation analysis.
  • Apply the workflow to multiple biotherapeutic candidates, including monoclonal, bispecific, and trispecific antibodies.
  • Establish a comprehensive toolbox for predicting antibody function using manufacturing process parameters and biotherapeutic quality attributes.
  • Study how biotherapeutic engineering and manufacturing conditions influence structure–function relationships.
  • Collaborate with teams across Johnson & Johnson and with external academic institutions.
  • Publish research findings in scientific journals and present results at international conferences.
