Eligibility / Qualification
Applicants should:
- Hold a doctoral degree by the MSCA 2026 call deadline.
- Candidates who have successfully defended their PhD thesis but have not yet formally received the degree may also be eligible.
- Have no more than eight years of full-time equivalent research experience after obtaining their PhD (subject to MSCA eligibility rules, exclusions, and extensions).
- Comply with the MSCA mobility rule: applicants must not have resided or carried out their main activity in Croatia for more than 12 months during the 36 months immediately preceding the call deadline.
- Demonstrate a strong publication record appropriate to their career stage.
- Be capable of working independently and contributing actively to the development of a competitive fellowship proposal.
- Possess excellent written and spoken English communication skills.
Preferred Technical Expertise
Candidates with hands-on laboratory experience in the following areas are especially encouraged to apply:
- Spectrophotometric and fluorometric biomarker assays
- Enzyme activity measurements
- Oxidative stress and antioxidant defense biomarkers
- Microplate-based laboratory methods
- Ecotoxicology, environmental toxicology, or comparative physiology
- Sample preparation techniques
- Quality assurance (QA) and quality control (QC) procedures
Experience with wildlife or avian studies is considered an advantage.
Job Description
The selected candidate will collaborate in the preparation and submission of an MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowship proposal and, if funded, will conduct independent research in environmental and wildlife ecotoxicology.
Key responsibilities include:
- Co-developing a competitive MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowship proposal.
- Designing and conducting laboratory-based ecotoxicological research.
