Open Ph.D. Position: The UQLID (Uncertainty Quantification, Learning, Inference, and Design) Lab at Northern Arizona University’s Department of Mechanical Engineering has an immediate opening for a Ph.D. student to work on “Multi-fidelity Methods for Scientific Machine Learning (SciML).” This fully funded position includes a monthly stipend and support for conference and workshop travels. We invite individuals with a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace Engineering, or Engineering Mechanics, along with expertise in scientific machine learning, multi-fidelity methods, computational mechanics, and uncertainty quantification, to apply for this exciting opportunity.   • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

As a Ph.D. student in the UQLID Lab, your responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting research in the field of Multi-fidelity Methods for Scientific Machine Learning (SciML).
  • Collaborating with a dynamic research team to advance the understanding of SciML.
  • Contributing to cutting-edge research in computational mechanics and uncertainty quantification.
  • Presenting research findings at conferences and workshops.
  • Pursuing a Ph.D. degree in Mechanical Engineering at Northern Arizona University.
