About- The Max Planck Institute for Molecular Biomedicine in Münster, Germany, has an opening for a PhD Student and a Postdoctoral Scientist (position code 08-2018) in the Bioactive Materials Laboratory of Dr. Britta Trappmann.
Our research focuses on the development of novel synthetic 3D tissue models, in particular for applications in angiogenesis. The models shall be used to probe the impact of physical properties of the extracellular matrix, such as mechanical stiffness, on the development of new blood vessels and their function.
The Max Planck Institute for Molecular Biomedicine in Münster offers great working conditions through a dynamic, interdisciplinary and international research environment.
Research/Job area– Cell biology, Chemistry and Material science
Location- Max Planck Institute for Molecular Biomedicine, Germany
Job/Position Description- Research group is looking for a qualified and highly motivated PhD student and postdoctoral scientist with a great interest in research at the interface of cell biology, chemistry and material science. Prior experience in the areas of biomaterials, 3D cell- and tissue culture, mechanotransduction studies as well as angiogenesis is desired, but not a prerequisite. We are looking for team players who are able to independently plan and execute their research tasks.
Starting date will be as soon as possible. PhD students will receive a compensation according to level 13 (50%) of the contracts for the civil service (TVöD, Tarifvertrag für den öffentlichen Dienst).
