Eligibility/Qualification:
- For PhD Positions: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Applied Mechanics, or a related field.
- For Postdoctoral Positions: PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Engineering Sciences, or a related discipline, with a strong background in experimental mechanics and materials.
- Demonstrated experience in material synthesis, fabrication, and characterization is preferred.
- Strong research experience in theoretical modeling and experimental methods will be advantageous.
Job Description:
Successful candidates will work in the Bai Group, which combines theoretical and experimental approaches to explore solid mechanics, material science, and multiphysical processes. Research topics include multifunctional materials, fracture mechanics, adhesion, strengthening and toughening, sustainable materials, soft robotics, human-machine interfaces, and energy storage systems. The group is equipped with modern laboratory facilities and works in collaboration with a prestigious academic network in the Boston area, including Harvard, MIT, and Boston University.
