PhD Candidate at AISSR: The Amsterdam Institute for Social Science Research (AISSR) at the University of Amsterdam is inviting applications for five fully funded PhD positions. Job Description:
PhD Candidate (m/f/d) – Amsterdam Institute for Social Science Research (AISSR)
- Research Proposal: Develop a clear and comprehensive plan for generating groundbreaking insights.
- Fit with AISSR: Align proposals with existing research and expertise within AISSR for high-quality supervision.
- Diversity: Encourage candidates with distinct profiles, expertise, perspectives, and backgrounds to shape the future of social sciences.
Eligibility: Applicants must have a master’s degree or equivalent within the social sciences by September 1st, 2024.
What can we offer you:
- Temporary employment contract of 38 hours per week for a maximum of four years.
- Initial employment is for one year, starting September 1, 2024, with the possibility of extension.
- Salary: €2,770 gross per month in the first year, increasing to €3,539 in the final year.
- Additional benefits: 8% holiday allowance, 8.3% year-end bonus, and professional development opportunities.
About us: The AISSR consists of 13 program groups across four departments: sociology, political science, anthropology, and geography, planning, and international development studies. It fosters theoretical and methodological pluralism, interdisciplinary collaboration, and international cooperation.
