Summary
Oslo University Hospital (OUS), Section for Medical Information and Communication Technology (The Intervention Centre), is offering a full-time, 3-year PhD Fellowship as part of the SYNAPSE (SYnergetic Network-AI Platform for Semantic Efficiency) project funded by the Research Council of Norway. Eligibility / Qualification
Required Qualifications:
- Academic Degrees: Master of Science (120 ECTS) in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related field, including a thesis, plus a relevant BSc degree (180 ECTS).
- Grade Requirements: Strong academic standing with a minimum grade of B (A preferred) overall and B or better on the Master’s thesis (Norwegian grading scale or equivalent).
- Technical Skills:
- Strong background in Machine Learning / Deep Learning frameworks (PyTorch or TensorFlow).
- Expertise in at least one area: Graph Neural Networks, Reinforcement Learning, Federated Learning, or Network Optimization.
- Proficient in Python programming.
- Language Requirements (if not fluent in a Scandinavian language):
- TOEFL: $\ge 600$ (paper-based) or $\ge 92$ (internet-based)
- IELTS (Academic): $\ge 6.5$ (no subscore below 5.5)
- Cambridge CAE/CPE: Grade A or B
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of semantic communications, software-defined networking, or network simulations.
- Familiarity with hypergraph or higher-order network models.
- Experience with High-Performance Computing (HPC) environments.
- Prior scientific publications in relevant peer-reviewed venues.
