🔬 Project & Job Description
Injectable medicines are manufactured under highly controlled aseptic conditions using various polymer-based equipment (tubing, bags, filters, and seals). This PhD project aims to establish a stronger scientific foundation for predicting compatibility between drug products and manufacturing materials.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct applied research on polymer degradation, extractables/leachables, and drug product compatibility.
- Develop and validate novel Electron Spin Resonance (ESR) spectroscopy methods for studying radicals in polymer materials.
- Combine ESR with complementary techniques such as FTIR, GC-MS, and LC-MS.
- Develop mechanistic frameworks to support industrial manufacturing decisions and future Quality by Design (QbD) strategies.
- Publish scientific results and collaborate across internal teams at Novo Nordisk and DTU.
🎓 Eligibility & Qualifications
Required:
- A Master’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Polymer Science, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related discipline.
- Strong knowledge of analytical chemistry, physical chemistry, or spectroscopy.
- Laboratory experience with analytical, chromatographic, or spectroscopic techniques.
- Proficiency in English (written and spoken) alongside a structured, creative approach to problem-solving.
Desirable (Asset but not required):
- Experience with Electron Spin Resonance (ESR), polymer characterization, or extractables and leachables (E&L).
📩 How to Apply
Interested candidates must submit their application directly through the official Novo Nordisk Careers Page.
Your application package must include:
- Letter of Motivation
- Curriculum Vitae (CV), including any publications or research experience.
- Documentation of a completed M.Sc. degree.
- Academic transcripts for both B.Sc. and M.Sc. programs (including weighted grade averages and English translations where applicable).
📅 Last Date to Apply: August 2nd, 2026
