Research Area: Electrical Power Engineering. Specifically, the research covers sustainable systems for producing and transporting electrical energy. The project investigates how HVDC installations affect, and are affected by, power quality in electrical networks up to 150 kHz. It includes studying primary and secondary emissions, network resonances, nonlinear interactions, and effects on transformers.
Location: Skellefteå, Västerbottens län, Sweden.
Eligibility / Qualification:
- Educational Background: An MSc or equivalent technical degree with a specialization relevant to electrical power engineering (such as electrical engineering, electronics, energy, or engineering physics).
- Alternative Eligibility: Individuals meeting the general third-cycle educational program requirements (e.g., 240 credits, of which at least 60 are second-cycle courses, or equivalent knowledge acquired otherwise).
- Language Skills: Advanced written and spoken English is required. The ability to contribute to departmental education in Swedish is considered a merit.
- Experience: Prior experience in research, development, or research-oriented education related to the tasks is highly valued.
Job Description: The role involves a mix of theoretical modeling, simulations, and potential laboratory and field measurements. You will develop models outlining the interaction and emissions related to HVDC installations. As a doctoral student, you will publish journal articles, present at conferences, take mandatory and elective courses, and may also engage in teaching.
