Eligibility/Qualification:

  • PhD or equivalent in Engineering, Environment, Energy Systems Analysis, or related fields
  • Demonstrated expertise in energy transition and urban decarbonization
  • Familiarity with modeling tools focusing on holistic analysis of energy systems in urban contexts
  • Proven experience in applying quantitative and qualitative skills to analyze energy systems and technological transition
  • Proficiency in GIS, preferably ArcGIS, for mapping renewable energy potentials
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
  • Command of the Portuguese language preferred

Job Description:
The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Conducting techno-economic and social analysis of integrated urban planning and design solutions to achieve climate neutrality and reduce GHG emissions
  • Analyzing urban regeneration solutions with a focus on the built environment
  • Developing and testing urban regeneration models and methodologies
  • Support project management activities and ensure effective implementation of project deliverables
  • Preparation of scientific publications and participation in dissemination and discussion activities
  • Contribution to national and international scientific collaborations
