Eligibility and Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Master’s degree or equivalent in Biomedicine or a related field.
- Demonstrated motivation and ability to complete an independent PhD research project.
- Proficiency in both written and spoken English.
Advantageous Qualifications:
- Research experience in cancer neuroscience.
- Experience with neuron-glioblastoma co-cultures.
- Experience with confocal microscopy.
- Experience with patch-clamp techniques.
- Experience with animal handling and experimentation.
Personal Qualities:
- Ability to work independently and in a structured manner.
- Capable of effective collaboration with others.
Documentation Requirements:
- Certified copies of diplomas and transcripts of grades.
- For education from outside Norway: certified translation of documents (if not in English or Scandinavian language) and a review from the Norwegian Directorate for Higher Education and Skills (HK-dir) verifying equivalence to a Norwegian Master’s degree.

Scholarship Description
This PhD position is a fixed-term, full-time employment for a period of three years, starting preferably on January 1, 2027. The candidate will be enrolled in the University of Bergen’s approved PhD program and is expected to submit a project plan outline for the training plan within three months of commencement.
Work Tasks:
- Perform in vitro and in vivo experiments for the project.
- Analyze and interpret experimental data.
- Participate in manuscript writing.
- Supervise master’s students.
