Research Area
The PhD project focuses on understanding pathological hallmarks (Amyloid, Tau, astrocytes, microglia, synaptic loss, etc.) of Alzheimer’s disease and other neurodegenerative disorders. It involves the use of novel PET imaging biomarkers and tracers to study neuroinflammation and synaptic loss.

Eligibility/Qualification
Candidates must meet the following criteria:
- A Master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Protein Biochemistry, Neuroscience, Translational Studies)
- Proficiency in English equivalent to English B/English 6 at Swedish upper secondary school
- Strong research experience in Alzheimer’s disease and neurodegenerative disorders
- Hands-on expertise in protein biochemistry, radioligand binding assays, Western blot analyses, immunohistochemistry, confocal microscopy, and statistical software
- Experience with postmortem human brain tissues, radioactive ligands, and brain organoids is desirable
Job Description
The selected PhD student will:
- Conduct day-to-day lab experiments and data compilation
- Assist with ordering lab chemicals and organizing lab activities
- Prepare manuscripts for publication and participate in internal and external presentations
- Attend and present at national and international conferences
- Collaborate closely with research teams and clinical partners
