PhD Position – Automation of a High Throughput Setup for Electrochemical Systems

Scholarship Description: The PhD position involves optimizing a high-throughput setup for manufacturing and characterizing electrocatalyst systems. You will design, build, and validate the setup in collaboration with other PhD students, benchmark state-of-the-art materials, and explore next-generation materials for electrolysis. The role requires close collaboration with electrochemists, data scientists, and automation experts to develop a reliable and fast electrochemical testing process.

Eligibility:

  • Excellent master’s degree in process, electrical, chemical, or mechanical engineering.
  • Strong interest in electrochemical systems research.
  • Background in object-oriented programming, robotics, or lab automation.
  • Desirable experience in electrochemistry, electrocatalysis, rheology, coating technologies, data management, databases, or prototyping.
  • Intrinsic motivation, creativity, and ability to work independently.
  • Excellent cooperation and communication skills.
  • Proficient in spoken and written English.
