Eligibility/Qualification:

  • Master’s degree in Physics or related fields
  • Affinity for atomic, molecular, and optical physics
  • Preferably some experience with experimental techniques
  • Strong enthusiasm, teamwork skills, and eagerness to learn

Job Description:
The PhD student will:

  • Collaborate with the Quantum Metrology group at LaserLaB Amsterdam
  • Develop a high-precision radio frequency ion trap
  • Work with trapped barium ions and optical standing waves
  • Engage in various experimental physics aspects including ultrahigh vacuum, CAD design, optics, lasers, electronics, and scientific programming
