Eligibility/Qualification:
- Master’s degree in Agricultural Sciences, Biology, Biochemistry, Bioinformatics, or a closely related field.
- Proficient in English (written and spoken).
- An independent, solution-oriented work ethic.
- Interdisciplinary mindset and enthusiasm for teamwork.
- Experience in plant work (preferably with rice or maize) and plant-microbe interactions is desirable.
Job Description:
- Investigate genetic mechanisms in plants that coordinate mycorrhizal interactions, phosphorus uptake, root system development, and soil microbial communities.
- Utilize maize and rice to determine the influence of plant phosphorus sensing and signaling on mycorrhizal colonization.
- Assess the role of root traits, mycorrhizae, and rhizosphere processes for phosphorus efficiency under water stress.
- Validate findings in field conditions to create frameworks for optimizing plant-mycorrhizal partnerships, enhancing food sustainability.
