Eligibility/Qualification
- General Entry Requirements: University degree equivalent to a European University Master’s degree or completed course requirements of at least 240 credit points, including 60 credit points at the second-cycle level.
- Specific Requirements: At least 90 credits in a relevant subject area, interdisciplinary backgrounds are welcome (physics, math, bioinformatics, computing science).
- Language Proficiency: Proficient in both oral and written English.
Job Description
The PhD student will:
- Develop software components for characterizing microbial genomes using single-cell multiomic methods.
- Participate in interdisciplinary projects involving computing science, microbiology, and data science.
- Engage in activities at the Department of Molecular Biology, Laboratory for Molecular Infection Medicine Sweden (MIMS), and the Umeå Centrum for Microbial Research (UCMR).
- Collaborate with researchers from various fields and gain access to advanced computational resources.
