Eligibility/Qualification

  • Master’s degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, molecular sciences, or a related field.
  • Strong laboratory experience and interest in complex chemical mixtures.
  • Familiarity or willingness to learn analytical techniques (NMR, LC-MS, chromatography).
  • Enthusiasm for systems chemistry, emergent behavior, and origins-of-life-related chemistry.
  • Interest in automation and high-throughput experimentation.
  • Good command of written and spoken English.

Job Description

As a PhD candidate, you will:

  • Explore how complex reaction networks emerge from simple molecules.
  • Perform high-throughput mixture experiments and characterize outcomes using analytical methods.
  • Develop minimal multicomponent reaction systems to study emergent network-level behaviors.
  • Collaborate on machine-learning-guided workflows to optimize experiments and steer chemical systems.
