Job Description:
- Investigate bird behavior’s role in seed dispersal, abiotic factors, and resilience in Hawai’i’s ecosystem.
- Flexible dissertation focus within the Hawai’i VINE project and new SERDP grant questions.
- Data collection in Hawai’i for >4 months yearly, based at the University of Wyoming in Laramie otherwise.
- Participation in the WYOBIRD initiative, local outreach, seminars, hands-on experience, and collaborations.
- Present results at conferences, publish in peer-reviewed outlets, and contribute to grant proposals.
Qualifications:
- B.S. or M.S. in biology, wildlife ecology, or related field.
- 2+ years of field experience, including mist-netting and plant identification.
- Experience with large datasets, R, and manuscript writing.
