Eligibility/Qualification

  • Masterโ€™s degree in Physics, Photonics, Applied Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, or a related scientific field.
  • Strong interest in photonic systems and light technology.
  • Knowledge of optical spectroscopy and Raman sensing is advantageous.
  • Experience with experimental setups, lasers, spectrometers, and fiber optics is a strong plus.
  • Good programming skills (e.g., Matlab, Python) preferred.
  • Knowledge of numerical techniques and advanced simulation methods (e.g., ANSYS, Zemax) is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative attitude.
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English (CEFR level C1 or equivalent).
  • Must not have worked as an assistant paid from operating resources for more than 12 months.

Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Conducting spectroscopic measurements (LIBS and Raman spectroscopy) on metals and impurities.
  • Developing a miniaturized laboratory setup for combined LIBS and Raman spectroscopy.
  • Applying machine learning techniques for data processing.
  • Designing and developing novel custom spectroscopic sensors utilizing freeform optics.
  • Integrating the in-situ spectroscopic sensing unit into the additive manufacturing process.
