Eligibility/Qualification
- Master’s degree in Physics, Photonics, Applied Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, or a related scientific field.
- Strong interest in photonic systems and light technology.
- Knowledge of optical spectroscopy and Raman sensing is advantageous.
- Experience with experimental setups, lasers, spectrometers, and fiber optics is a strong plus.
- Good programming skills (e.g., Matlab, Python) preferred.
- Knowledge of numerical techniques and advanced simulation methods (e.g., ANSYS, Zemax) is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative attitude.
- Proficiency in spoken and written English (CEFR level C1 or equivalent).
- Must not have worked as an assistant paid from operating resources for more than 12 months.
Job Description
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Conducting spectroscopic measurements (LIBS and Raman spectroscopy) on metals and impurities.
- Developing a miniaturized laboratory setup for combined LIBS and Raman spectroscopy.
- Applying machine learning techniques for data processing.
- Designing and developing novel custom spectroscopic sensors utilizing freeform optics.
- Integrating the in-situ spectroscopic sensing unit into the additive manufacturing process.
