Research Area: Development of advanced computational methods, density functionals, and software for the theoretical study of molecular solids.
Job Description
The successful candidate will conduct independent research and contribute to the following areas:
- Writing a dissertation in the field of Theoretical Chemistry.
- Development of density functionals and embedding methods for molecular solids.
- (Joint) development of software programs for theoretical chemistry.
- Independent teaching, participation in examination tasks, and student supervision.
- Participation in administrative and organizational tasks within the institute.
Eligibility & Qualifications
- A completed Master’s degree in Chemistry or Physics.
- Extensive knowledge of Theoretical Chemistry.
- Programming skills in relevant languages and experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).
- Proficiency in quantum chemistry software for molecular simulation and software calculating periodic boundary conditions.
- Ideally, prior experience with embedding methods or molecular crystals.
- Excellent command of written and spoken German and English.
- Strong organizational skills, scientific curiosity, and a team-oriented mindset.
