The research will apply AI, particularly deep learning and reinforcement learning, along with software/systems engineering techniques to develop a smart and efficient greenhouse. The digital twin will integrate sensor data, employ state-of-the-art AI techniques, and enhance user-friendly interactions with farmers.
Eligibility:
- MSc in a discipline relevant to the PhD project (e.g., computer science, data science, artificial intelligence, or agricultural sciences)
- Experience with AI techniques, especially deep learning and reinforcement learning, and related algorithms and programming languages (e.g., Python)
- Experience with software/systems development and engineering, or a keen interest in digital twinning
- Familiarity with precision agriculture/horticulture or a strong interest in investigating this domain
- Familiarity with sensing and IoT technologies or a keen interest in learning these techniques
- Collaborative mindset and an interest in working in multi-disciplinary projects with researchers and industry partners
