Scholarship Description: The AI4D Lab is dedicated to developing state-of-the-art mathematical solutions and data-driven algorithms for multi-disciplinary design optimization (MDO) in complex systems, with a particular focus on fluid dynamics. Fully funded PhD positions are available, covering tuition, insurance, and stipend. Successful candidates may collaborate with industrial and academic partners, with flexible starting dates from Fall 2024 to Fall 2025.

Eligibility: Applicants must meet the following qualifications:

  • Hold a Master’s degree in mechanical, aerospace, applied mathematics, or a related field
  • Possess hands-on experience in AI/ML, reduced-order modeling, and computational methods
  • Proficient in Python, Julia, or C++ programming
  • Strong understanding of fluid mechanics, aerodynamics, and turbulence
  • Experience in CFD software development or familiarity with algorithms used in CFD methods
