PhD Positions in Biological Sciences: Université de Namur invites applications for fully funded PhD positions in Biological Sciences at the Unité de Recherche en Biologie Environnementale et Evolutive (URBE). The selected candidates will conduct research in theoretical and experimental ecology focusing on the response of biodiversity to global changes. Successful candidates will also engage in teaching activities and contribute to the scientific and technical management of the research unit.

Missions:

  • Provide practical work, tutorials, and field internships in topics such as biodiversity, applied and theoretical ecology, and data analysis.
  • Collaborate in the technical and scientific management of the research unit.
  • Conduct research in theoretical and experimental ecology leading to a PhD.
  • Participate in events and the organization of the eccology-lab, the Research Unit (URBE), and the Biology department.

Profile:

  • Master’s degree in biological sciences or equivalent.
  • Skills in computational biology.
  • Proficiency in R and/or Python.
  • Interest in teaching, biodiversity, and theoretical ecology.
  • Ability to work in a team.
  • Excellent communication skills in French and English.
  • Autonomy and organization.
