Eligibility/Qualification: The ideal candidates should have:
- A Master’s degree with specialization in microbiology, bioengineering, bioinformatics, or related topics (expected graduation date should be indicated if not graduated yet)
- Research experience in biochemistry, microbiology, or related fields
- A creative mindset, proficiency in English, and excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team
- Experience in genetic engineering of bacteria, microscopy, or statistics is advantageous.
Description: The Systems Biology of Predatory Bacteria group focuses on deciphering the predatory cycle of Bdellovibrio bacteriovorus, an intriguing bacterial predator with unique characteristics. Through state-of-the-art screening approaches such as transposon-sequencing (tn-seq) and advanced microscopy techniques, we aim to identify genes essential for B. bacteriovorus predation and growth. As a PhD candidate, you will have the opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research projects, receive comprehensive training, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams. The position entails conducting independent and original scientific research, publishing results in international journals, and completing a PhD dissertation within four years.
