PhD Positions-TIDE: The University of Cologne, in collaboration with the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-University Bonn, invites applications for up to 3 funded PhD positions in the Research Training Group (RTG) “Template-Designed Organic Electronics – TIDE.” This interdisciplinary program, funded by the DFG (Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft), offers a unique opportunity to engage in cutting-edge research in Organic Electronics. Successful candidates will join a collaborative and dynamic research environment, contributing to advancements in the fields of organic synthesis, surfaces & interface sciences, device physics & applications, ultrafast spectroscopy, and quantum chemical theory & modelling.

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • M.Sc. degree (or equivalent) in Chemistry, Physics, Material Sciences, or similar with excellent results.
  • Prior knowledge of a featured topic in “Template-Designed Organic Electronics” is advantageous.
  • Highly motivated candidates interested in collaborative and interdisciplinary research.

Job Description:

  • Collaborate in a cohort-based research training program over a period of 3 years.
  • Engage in interdisciplinary training courses and a three-month research stay abroad (international).
  • Work on cutting-edge research topics in Template-Designed Organic Electronics.
