PhD/Postdoc Position: Join the Nanoscale Materials and Systems (NMS) group at FZU – Institute of Physics of the Czech Academy of Sciences, Prague, Czechia, and contribute to cutting-edge battery technologies. We are seeking a motivated PhD candidate or postdoctoral researcher with expertise in silicon anode materials to advance material synthesis and energy storage technologies.

Location: Nanoscale Materials and Systems (NMS) group, FZU – Institute of Physics of the Czech Academy of Sciences, Prague, Czechia

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • Master’s degree in physics, chemistry, engineering, or equivalent
  • Theoretical and experimental background in nanomaterials and electrochemistry
  • Previous experience in silicon synthesis, electrochemical characterization, electrode fabrication, and electrochemical cell assembly is advantageous
  • Strong research capabilities, innovative thinking, and problem-solving skills
  • Effective collaboration within diverse teams
  • Proficiency in English (written and spoken)

Job Description: As a member of the NMS group, you will drive innovation in energy storage by developing silicon-based anode materials for future Li-ion batteries. You will synthesize novel Si nanomaterials and hybrid silicon/carbon materials, contributing to the advancement of electrochemical energy storage devices. Your work will span material science, electrochemistry, physics, and engineering, making significant strides in battery solutions with real-world impact.
