Eligibility/Qualification

  • Master’s degree or equivalent in Cell Biology, Biomathematics, or a related field, or a submitted master’s thesis for assessment prior to the application deadline.
  • Demonstrated potential for interdisciplinary approaches to biology.
  • Preferred experience in live-cell confocal microscopy, quantitativecell biology, computational modeling (especially using R), and applied statistics.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, with strong proficiency in written and oral English.
  • Personal and relational qualities will be assessed, along with research experience and potential.

Job Description

The PhD Research Fellow will:

  • Conduct research on mitochondrial behavior in various species, utilizing live-cell imaging and computational analysis.
  • Explore the hypothesis regarding mitochondrial motion and biomolecule sharing across different eukaryotic species.
  • Collaborate within an NFR-funded project “MitoPhyto,” combining experimental and modeling approaches.

The position requires participation in a PhD educational program, and the candidate will be expected to contribute to the teaching and dissemination of research.
